On Saturday, the second annual Footprints for the Future 5K will wind through the heart of Sandy Springs in an effort to help the city’s public school children embark on a successful future.
The race, which will benefit the Sandy Springs Education Force, will be held Nov. 14 at Lake Forrest Elementary School.
The 5K, a certified Peachtree Road Race qualifier, will include chip timing and a professional finish line provided by Georgia Multisports Productions. The event also includes a pre-race warm-up led by fitness professionals and live entertainment including a DJ, vendor booths and a one-mile Family Fun Run.
T-shirts and swag bags with giveaways from sponsors and community supporters will be given to all race participants.
Registration will begin at 7 a.m. and the 5K will start at 8 a.m. The Family Fun Run gets underway at 9 a.m. Race-day registration fees are $35 for adults and teens age 13 and older and $15 for children 12 and under.
Organizers will only accept cash for race-day registration.
