The Sandy Springs Education Force will award $500 to a school’s PTA/PTO that has the most runners or walkers in the Nov. 12 event.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — Sandy Springs Education Force is gearing up for its third annual Footprints for the Future 5K.
The race, which is a Peachtree Road Race qualifier, will be held on Saturday, Nov. 12.
The organization will grant $500 to a school’s PTA or PTO that has the most runners or walkers who take part in the event. This year’s race will also include a new, faster, flatter course starting at Lake Forest Elementary School.
Chip timing and a professional finish line provided by Georgia Multisports Productions. Also, new this year is a 40-yard dash for children and teens age 18 and under.
All runners and walkers are welcome to come out, register and support their favorite Sandy Springs public school to win the $500 prize.
Nearly 250 runners have already registered. Racers will also receive a long-sleeved, dri-balance race T-shirt and a swag bag valued at about $100.
All proceeds benefit SSEF, the city’s public education-focused nonprofit organization, and its educational programs in all 11 public schools.
Participants can register for the race Saturday morning at the school, which is located at 5920 Sandy Springs Circle.
Race-day registration starts at 7 a.m. and the 5K will start at 8 a.m. The 40-Yard Dash will get underway at 9 a.m. Awards will be presented at 9:45 a.m.
Registration fees are $35 for those age 13 and older, $15 for children 12 and under and $10 for the 40-Yard Dash. Cash will only be accepted for the method of payment.
