Under the guidance of Ms. Sarah Severson, Heards Ferry students explored the exciting world of robotics and app development, creating interactive experiences for visitors to enjoy. Using Hummingbird Robotics Bit Kits, students designed and built their own robotics-based games from scratch, incorporating sensors, motors and LEDs to bring their ideas to life. These kits provided students with an open-ended engineering and programming platform and allowed them to code and construct robots using a mix of arts and technology. These tools helped students develop problem-solving skills, creativity and teamwork as they designed, tested and refined their projects.
In addition, students worked in teams of four to develop innovative apps with real-world applications. Half of the projects focused on app development, while the other half showcased robotics-driven interactive games.
