Can you believe we are halfway through the school year? We thought you’d like to know what we’ve accomplished in these few short months! So far we have:

Engaged 130 middle school students five days a week in a two-hour after-school program
Dispensed 5,000 books through our Mini Libraries to school students who would otherwise not have books to read at home
Provided weekly reading buddies to 40 elementary school students
Worked with 150 high and middle school students in our Link with a Leader program to help students focus on gaol-setting and career readiness
Engaged over 300 students in ongoing after-school STEAM projects in all 11 of our Sandy Springs public schools

Thank you for supporting our public school kids! Almost 90 cents of every dollar you give SSEF goes directly to underwriting education and enrichment programs for students. Your gifts help open the doors to academic and lifelong success.

30 cents a day ($100) pays for two college applications for a student who may be the first in his or her family to attend a university or technical college
$1 a day ($360) provides a school bus to take 50 middle school students to visit a college campus or workplace for the first time, where they will be able to see that attending college or being part of a vibrant workplace is attainable
$2.20 a day ($800) sponsors a child for a year of After-School All-Stars, offering five-day a week curriculum support and enrichment in a safe, nurturing environment
$2.75 a day ($1000) supports a robotics team, science club, engineering or math team in one of our 11 public schools

Are you a pie lover? You are in luck! SSEF is the December Charity for Buttermilk Sky Pie’s “Pie it Forward” program. For every large 9″ Peppermint Brownie pie purchased in December, SSEF receives $2.00, and for every small pie, we receive $.50. Enjoy your pie and help our kids!
