Sandy Springs Education Force supports two clubs at Woodland Elementary School. Under the direction of Ms. Foster and Ms. Sackellares, students have been busy applying design thinking and scientific discovery skills to address real-world challenges. They engaged in hands-on learning with Lego Robotics and Scratch/Makey Makey to develop their coding skills.Via participation in the WES STEM Club and WES Robotics Club, students explored STEM concepts while strengthening their literacy, math, social studies and social-emotional skills. They worked with a variety of robotics, including Spheros, Ozobots, Drones, Spike LEGOs and Vex, enhancing their critical-thinking abilities and gaining insight into potential career paths.
By integrating technology and hands-on experimentation, students deepened their understanding of science concepts and refined their collaboration and problem-solving skills. The projects they created reflected their innovative thinking and inspired a new wave of future-ready learners.
